No. 15 Oregon Hopes to Break Bay Area Blues

EUGENE - With the 11th 20-win season now in the bank, No. 15 Oregon looks to break out of their Bay Area blues on its last road trip of the regular season.

Oregon plays at Cal on Thursday at 7:30 PM in a rare non-televised game, and then faces Stanford on Saturday at 5:00 PM in an Oregon Sports Network game.

Oregon garnered the 11th 20-win season in school history (and fourth under Ernie Kent) Feb. 8th against Arizona State.

This year is also the Ducks’ 56th winning season in program history (102 seasons).

The Ducks have played 11 league games decided by eight points or less, and have an 8-3 record in those games.

Overall, Oregon is 10-3 in games decided by eight points or less this season.

The Ducks have struggled of late on the trip to California’s Bay Area.

Oregon last won at Cal on Feb 12th, 2000 (64-60), and were last victorious at Stanford on Jan. 13th, 1986 (83-69).

Oregon is 18-1 when the opponent shoots below 50 percent from the field and 2-4 when foes top 50 percent.

Oregon leads the Pac-10 and ranks eighth nationally in three-point field goals per game (9.4). The Ducks are also second in the conference and 12th nationally in free throw percentage (.753).

The Feb. 22nd Washington State game has been selected by FSN for a national telecast and will now start at 8:00 PM.

1,000 POINT TEAMMATES:

Malik Hairston and Aaron Brooks have become just the fourth 1,000-point teammates to share the floor at the same time for Oregon.

They join Stan Love and Bill Drozdiak (1971), Ron Lee and Greg Ballard (1976), and Luke Ridnour and Luke Jackson (2003). Should Bryce Taylor reach 1,000 points this season, the Ducks will have three 1,000-point players on the floor together for the first time in school history.
