CORVALLIS - This weekend is one final chance for the Oregon State swim team to qualify more swimmers for the NCAA Championships on March 8th-10th in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Saori Haruguchi and Kayla Rawlings have already qualified for the NCAA Championships, but more swimmers could qualify after this weekend. Haruguchi will swim the 200 Individual Medley, 100 Butterfly, and 200 Fly at the NCAA’s and Rawlings will join her in the 200 Fly. OSU will head to Federal Way, Washington and swim on Sunday in a series of time trials after the Pac-10 Men’s Championship has ended. Most notably, the 800 Freestyle Relay team of Haruguchi, Anna Crandall, Brittney Iverson, and Rawlings sits in 17th place (7:16.77) and the NCAA usually takes the top 15 or 16, so the relay team will look to shave a second off their time and qualify. “We are hoping for a few more swimmers to go faster this weekend and qualify,” said OSU head coach Larry Liebowitz.
