Nurse Leads Oregon Women Past UCLA, 76-60

EUGENE - Tamika Nurse had 22 points and three other Oregon players scored in double figures as the Ducks defeated UCLA 76-60 on Thursday.

Carolyn Ganes added 14 points for Oregon (12-9, 4-7 Pac-10), which ended a three-game losing streak to the Bruins.

Cicely Oaks scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Eleanor Haring had 11 points.

The Ducks held a 34-30 advantage at halftime, but shot 52 percent from the field in the second half to lead by as many as 19 points.

Oregon committed just nine turnovers and made all but one of its 23 free throws.

The Ducks went 18-for-19 from the foul line in the game's last nine minutes.

Nurse was 10-for-10 from the line on the night.

UCLA (12-12, 6-6) arrived in Eugene with a three-game winning streak.

Noelle Quinn led UCLA with 16 points and Lindsey Pluimer scored 13.

The Bruins shot 12-for-31 (39 percent) in both halves.

Next up for the Ducks is a home meeting with USC (14-8, 8-4) on Saturday night at 7:00 PM.
