Swarm Sting LumberJax, 11-8

PORTLAND - Minnesota Swarm goaltender Nick Patterson recorded 37 saves and allowed only eight goals as the Swarm beat the Portland LumberJax 11-8 on Friday at Rose Garden in Portland.

The loss is Portland's fourth straight as the club falls to 2-4.

Sean Pollock scored four goals for Minnesota as they captured their second win of the season, improving to 2-3.

Minnesota scored the first two goals of the game and only relinquished the lead once for a brief time in the second quarter.

After a tightly contested first two quarters, the Swarm used a four goal rally late in the third quarter and into the early fourth quarter to take a comfortable lead and held on to win 11-8.

The LumberJax were led by Ryan Powell who scored three goals and added an assist for four points.

Dallas Eliuk recorded 26 saves and allowed 11 goals in the loss.
