SALEM - Corban's women's basketball team will host the semifinal round of the Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament against the No. 3-seeded Coyotes of Albertson beginning at 7:30 PM on Friday, inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.

On Tuesday, Corban defeated Concordia, 80-50, behind a combined 31 points from junior Jessica Steigleman and senior Tosha Wilson.

Steigleman led all players with 16 points on 8-for-16 shooting from the field, while Wilson turned in a 15-point performance on 6-for-7 shooting from the field.

Senior Jessi Norton handed out a game-high 7 assists, while recording a game-high 6 steals.

Senior Brianne Carras led the Warriors' rebounding effort with a team-high 8 rebounds (5 offensive rebounds), despite Corban being out-rebounded by fifteen (48-33), including a difference of 12 offensive boards (23-11).

Albertson advanced to the conference tournament semifinals thanks to a 74-52 victory over the tournament's No. 6-seeded Knights of Warner Pacific.

The 'Yotes Denise Hill provided a game-high 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Savannah Ames and Whitney Martin added 13 and 10 points respectively.

In the overall series between Corban and Albertson, the Lady Coyotes lead thanks to winning 16-out-of-28 games with both team picking up victories this season on the other team's home court.

In mid-December, Albertson defeated Corban, 73-69, in Salem before the Warriors rebounded in mid-January and scored a 101-88 victory in Caldwell, Idaho.

In conference tournament action, Corban leads the overall series, 2-1, including victories in the past two meetings.

In the 2001 playoffs, then-Western Baptist earned its second-ever post-season win thanks to a 73-68 win over the 'Yotes in Caldwell en route to capturing its first-ever conference tournament crown.

Four seasons later, then-third-year head coach Dave Bale guided the Warriors to their second-ever conference tournament title thanks to a 60-57 win over Albertson in Salem, as Corban earned its third trip in program history to the NAIA Division II national tournament.

Now in his fifth year, head coach Dave Bale will be at the helm of the Warriors for the final time during the post-season tournament, as he has led Corban to the playoffs in five straight seasons and has a win-loss record of 7-3, including his lone conference tournament championship banner in 2005.

If Corban defeats Albertson then they will take part in their fourth conference tournament championship game in program history on Monday, February 26th.

The Warriors will either play at home beginning at 7:30 PM against the tournament's No. 4-seeded Oregon Tech or travel to La Grande to take on top-seeded Eastern Oregon beginning at 7:00 PM.
