Capitol Cup Softball Tournament Cancelled

WU's NWC doubleheader with Lewis & Clark College will be played on Saturday, as originally scheduled, starting at noon.

SALEM - The 2007 Capitol Cup softball tournament has been canceled due to the rain we've received this week, plus the threat of additional rain.

The event had been scheduled for this weekend at the Willamette University Softball Field, the Western Oregon University Softball Field and two fields at Jaquith Park in Newberg.

Although the tournament has been canceled, the WU Softball Field is in good shape, so Willamette will be playing Northwest Christian College in a single game on Friday at 2:00 PM.

Also, Willamette's NWC doubleheader with Lewis & Clark College will be played on Saturday, as originally scheduled, starting at noon.
