SEATTLE - Oregon’s women’s basketball team (16-12, 8-10 Pac-10) lost for just the third time in its last nine contests Saturday against Washington, 61-46, at the Bank of America Arena in Seattle.

The Huskies (18-11, 11-7) took advantage of 24 Duck turnovers, scoring 31 points off these Oregon miscues, en route to their third consecutive win.

The turnovers were enough to overcome a poor shooting night for Washington, who went 24-74 (32.4%) from the field.

Oregon shot just 35.4% in the game, making 17 of 48 shots from the floor.

Eleanor Haring and Kaela Chapdelaine led the Ducks in scoring, each finishing with 10 points.

Haring and senior Jamie Hawkins led Oregon with eight rebounds apiece.

Carolyn Ganes scored the first basket of the game, but a three-pointer by Emily Florence gave Washington a lead it would never relinquish.

The Ducks trailed by just five with 14:00 remaining in the game before an 18-6 run by the Huskies put the game out of reach.

Washington senior Cameo Hicks led the Huskies with 13 points and junior Andrea Plouffe added 12 and five rebounds.

UCLA’s loss against Cal on Saturday means Oregon remains sixth in the Pac-10 despite the loss, earning a first round bye in next weekend’s Pac-10 tournament.
