Geroge Fox Women Blast Willamette, 75-32

SALEM - George Fox University held Willamette University to just 22.6% shooting, as the Bruins defeated the Bearcats, 75-32, in a Northwest Conference game at Cone Field House Friday night.

George Fox improved to 14-6 overall, 10-3 in the NWC. The Bruins entered the game in second place in the conference.

Willamette was playing without leading scorer Keilyn Fujioka because of a knee injury.

The Bearcats fell to 4-18 overall, including 2-11 in the NWC.

George Fox scored the game's first 10 points and owned a 35-14 advantage at halftime.

The Bruins were led by Katy Campbell with 11 points and by Robin Taylor, who scored 10 points. A total of 15 GFU players scored during the game.

Willamette's top scorers were Laura Payne and Rebekah Wells with seven points each.

Maggie Hake and Tracie Nygaard added six points apiece.

Seniors Sara Brooks, Hake and Kari Woody all started in their final home game for the Bearcats.

Willamette will play again on Saturday at Linfield College. Game time is set for 6:00 PM.
