EUGENE - The Ducks (9-5, 1-3 Pac-10) return home to face the Arizona Schools in Pac-10 Conference play, starting Thursday against the Arizona Wildcats (7-10, 1-4) at 7:00 PM. UO plays No. 11 Arizona State (14-2, 4-1) on Saturday at 7:00 PM. QUICK QUACK: Oregon returns six players from last year’s squad, which went 14-15, 5-13 in the Pac-10. Of UO’s 11 players, six are seniors, including F Eleanor Haring, a former Pac-10 All-Freshman team honoree. CLIPPED WINGS: SR F/C Jessie Shetters sat out Oregon’s game at UCLA on Jan. 7th with a sore back and is day-to-day. SERIES VS. ARIZONA: Oregon leads the all-time series against UA 24-19, including a 13-7 mark at Mac Court. Last year, the Wildcats took two of the three meetings with the Ducks and knocked UO out of Pac-10 tournament. UA has won 10 of the last 15 meetings against Oregon dating back to 2000. UO has won the last two games in Eugene. SERIES VS. ARIZONA STATE: UO holds a 27-19 series’ edge all-time vs. ASU, but the Sun Devils are 11-3 against the Ducks since 2001. All three of Oregon’s wins over that span have come at home. PAULEY, SURE: SR F/C Carolyn Ganes likes shooting at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion, as evidenced by her last two trips to Los Angeles. Ganes posted a team-high 20 points on Jan. 7th of this season and led the Ducks with 15 points at the legendary arena last season. ‘T’ GOES OFF: After never making more than four field goals in a game through her first 41 contests as a Duck, SO G Tamika Nurse was 9-of-18 from the floor at UCLA Jan. 7th - good for a career-high 18 points. Her 18 attempts were eight more than her previous high. FORMIDABLE FOES: Starting with Saturday’s game against No. 11 Arizona State, Oregon has a stretch of three consecutive games against ranked opponents. The Ducks face No. 10 Stanford on Jan. 18th and No. 22 California on Jan. 20th.
