CORVALLIS - The University of Arizona heads into Saturday’s game against Oregon State with a 7-11 overall record and a 1-5 mark in the Pac-10.

Despite three players reaching double figures in scoring, the Wildcats dropped an 86-73 decision at University of Oregon on Thursday.

Senior guard Joy Hollingsworth led all players with 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting, while Jessica Arnold added 17 points and Amina Njonkou chipped in 13. Hollingsworth leads the team with 15.9 points per game to go along with 6.0 rebounds.

Junior guard Ashley Whisonant chips in 11.6 points while dishing out a team-high 3.8 assists per game.

Arizona head coach Joan Bonvicini needs just two victories for 600 in her career.

BEAVERS AND WILDCATS SERIES NUMBERS:

Arizona holds a narrow 24-20 lead in the all-time series with Oregon State.

The Wildcats have won 15 of the last 21 meetings, but the Beavers are a perfect 2-0 against Arizona with LaVonda Wagner at the helm.

LAST TIME OUT AGAINST ARIZONA:

Four players reached double figures in scoring as Oregon State knocked off University of Arizona, 91-83, in Gill Coliseum on Feb. 11th, 2006.

With the win, the Beavers swept the season series against the Wildcats for the first time since the 2001-02 campaign.

OSU led by as many as 30 points midway through the second half, but Arizona went on a 27-8 run over the next five minutes to get back into the game.

Both teams combined for 124 second half points after OSU took a 30-20 lead into the locker room. Kim Butler led all players with 27 points, including a perfect 13-for-13 mark from the free throw line.

Fellow senior Anita Rivera buried 7-of-11 field goals, including five 3-pointers, en route to a career-high 25 points. Mandy Close finished with 14 points and eight assists, while Casey Nash added 12 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots.

UA had four players reach double figures in scoring as well, with Joy Hollingsworth’s 24 points on 10-of-16 shooting leading the way.

Oregon State’s 91 points were the most scored by the Beavers since a 100-point outburst against University of Washington on Feb. 20th, 2003.
