SEATTLE - The 2007 indoor track and field season got off to a solid start for the Western Oregon squad on Saturday at the University of Washington Preview.

The Wolves posted three entries onto its all-time Top 10 list in the meet held at the Dempsey indoor arena.

“We had some very good efforts, but of course the marks won’t necessarily show that because it is so early,” said head coach Mike Johnson. “We have had very little training since returning from break, but you have to start somewhere. It was a positive day, a productive and purposeful day.”

The Wolves did not have any winners in a meet that featured many division I and outstanding post-collegians, but had some solid beginnings to the 2007 season.

Sophomore Jacque Postlewait posted a personal indoor best in the high jump with a leap of 5-2 ¼, sixth best on WOU’s all-time list.

She also went 9.66 in the 60 meter hurdles.

Senior Lee Clarkson topped all Great Northwest Athletic Conference hurdlers present with an 8.82 60 meter hurdle time in the finals.

Transfer Troy Tosdale posted a time of 9.38 in the preliminaries, tenth on WOU’s career list.

Western Oregon will not race again until the UW Invitational on Jan. 26th-27th in Seattle.
