La GRANDE - For the second time this season Eastern Oregon University’s Christie Weaver has been named the Cascade Conference Player of the Week.

Weaver was also named conference POW for the week of January 2nd.

Teammate Tiffanie Ulmer wore the crown last week.

The senior from La Grande averaged 16 points and 10.5 rebounds during a weekend sweep of conference foe’s Concordia and Corban.

Christie was 9-18 (50%) from the field and an amazing 8-13 (61%) from the three point line.

She also connected on all six of her free throw attempts while dishing out 7 assists and chalking up 5 steals.

On a larger scale, Weaver accomplished an even bigger feat.

She became just the 4th women’s basketball player at EOU to top the 1,300 point mark for her career moving into 4th place all-time.

When Christie scored her 7th point against Concordia on Saturday night she surpassed Melissa Powers who previously held the 4th spot.

With 5 more points she will pass former Mountie Jamie Jo Cant and move into the 3rd position.
