MLB News: White Sox Podsednik Recovering From Hernia Surgery

Podsednik ranked fifth in the American League in stolen bases

CHICAGO - Outfielder Scott Podsednik of the Chicago White Sox underwent outpatient surgery in Dallas on Tuesday to repair a sports hernia.

Recovery time is expected to last between 6-8 weeks.

Podsednik, 30, batted .261 (137-524) with three home runs, 45 RBI, 40 stolen bases and 86 runs scored in 139 games with the White Sox in 2006.

He ranked fifth in the American League in stolen bases and became the fourth player in Sox history to record back-to-back seasons with 40 steals.
