FAIRFAX, Va. - ExxonMobil and Penske Racing has announced that 2006 Indianapolis 500 winner Sam Hornish Jr. will drive the #12 Mobil 1 Dodge in seven NASCAR Busch Series races during the 2007 season. The three-time IndyCar Series champion will join fellow Penske Racing drivers Ryan Newman and Kurt Busch for a limited schedule as Penske Racing expands its presence in the NASCAR Busch Series in 2007. “Sam Hornish Jr. is a talented driver and ExxonMobil hopes that with our support and the support of the Penske team, Sam will reach his goals in the Busch Series this year,” said Juan Carlos Marroquin, Americas marketing manager, ExxonMobil Lubricants & Petroleum Specialties Company. “The Mobil 1 brand was featured on Sam’s car when he made his 2006 debut in the Busch Series, and we’re excited to see what the 2007 racing season has in store.” Hornish is scheduled to drive the #12 Mobil 1 Dodge in the following NASCAR Busch Series races in 2007: February 17th - Daytona International Speedway February 24th - California Speedway May 4th – Richmond International Raceway August 18th - Michigan International Speedway September 22nd – Dover International Speedway November 10th – Phoenix International Raceway November 17th – Homestead – Miami Speedway “Thanks to Penske and ExxonMobil, I was able to make my NASCAR debut in the Mobil 1 Dodge at the end of the 2006 Busch Series season, and I learned a lot,” said Hornish. “This year I look forward to the challenge of competing in the Busch Series and defending my IndyCar Series title at the same time.” Hornish will compete full-time in the IndyCar Series with hopes of securing a second Indy 500 win and a fourth IndyCar Series Championship in 2007. Hornish’s 2007 Busch Series schedule will not conflict with his IndyCar commitments. ExxonMobil also will continue its sponsorship of Ryan Newman during the 2007 Nextel Cup Series season.
