EUGENE - After beating Corban College twice earlier in the season, Northwest Christian couldn’t complete the season sweep on Saturday night, falling 72-59.

The Warriors won behind 22 points from sophomore Wade Douglas, who shot 8-for-11 on the night.

The Beacons trailed buzzer-to-buzzer and were down early, 15-4 with 15:07 to play in the first half when Nate Morris hit a three-pointer.

Trailing by 15 with eight minutes to play, backup Point Guard Jordan Humphreys lit a small rally, scoring nine points over a five-minute stretch as NCC climbed to within four points, 30-26 with 2:45 to go.

Corban then grabbed a 35-28 advantage heading into the locker room.

NCC made another run early on in the second half when Andrew Williams, Humpries and Erik Quick-Warner made a trio of jumpers off turnovers and the Beacons climbed within two, 42-40.

Jason Braun then silenced the rally with five straight points and the Warrior route was on.

Northwest Christian (10-10) was led by Humphries, who finished with eleven points.

Quick-Warner added seven points while four other players had six. The Beacons were out-rebounded 36-30, but scored 32 points off the bench in a deep contest.

Douglas flirted with a triple-double for Corban College (3-21) adding eight rebounds and seven assists to his game-high 22 points.

Braun added 14 points, shooting 6-for-9, and J.D. Hill threw in ten in the winning effort.

The Beacons, who now must go 4-1 over the final five games to earn a USCAA National Tournament berth, will be back in action on Monday when they play host to George Fox (9-8).
