Oregon Dominates Alabama, 6-1

The Ducks next face Michigan Saturday at home.

LUBBOCK, Texas - After last nights six hour long marathon, the Ducks came out revitalized Saturday afternoon at the Lubbock Country Club defeating Alabama 6-1.

The 42nd ranked Ducks took on the Crimson Tide today at full force putting them away early.

In doubles Oregon came away with a sweep winning all three matches.

However, in singles Alabama took one win, escaping a shut out.

Oregon controlled the tempo during doubles easily taking three wins.

Dieskova and Olivos were the first to finish 8-1.

Singles matches created a little drama in the country club after the Dieskova win, Alabama’s Shelley Goodwin defeated Cecelia Olivos 6-1, 6-2 giving the Crimson Tide a boost of energy.

Yet, it wasn’t enough to defeat the Ducks who won the next 4-4 singles matches.
