EUGENE - The oregon Ducks men's tennis team (3-1, 0-0) take on the northwest rival Portland Pilots (2-0, 0-0) in a dual match on Wednesday at 6:30 PM and face Sacramento State (0-0, 0-0) on Saturday at 3:00 PM.

Scouting Portland:

The Pilots come into the Student Tennis Center off of dominating wins over Idaho and Gonzaga, the same two teams that the Ducks also defeated last weekend.

The Pilots also participated in the Duck Invitational earlier in the year.

The Pilots went 14-12 overall over that weekend, highlighted by Pilot senior Alex Strom’s performance in the “Green” singles draw.

Strom advanced to the semifinals after upsetting Marco Verdasco from Oregon in straight sets (6-3, 6-2).

Scouting Sacramento State:

Sacramento State’s men’s squad won a share of last season’s Big Sky regular season championship after finishing the year with a 12-11 overall record and a 5-1 conference mark.

The Hornets, who have won five of the last nine Big Sky championships, welcome in a recruiting class that was ranked 18th in the nation by the Tennis Recruiting Network.

Sacramento State freshmen Anton Stryhas and Tim Lantin took both of the singles titles at the Duck Invitational.
