DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The IndyCar Series will return to historic Daytona International Speedway for a two-day test session on the 2.73-mile road course on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Open Test Session will feature top drivers from the IndyCar Series including Sam Hornish Jr., Helio Castroneves, Scott Dixon, Dan Wheldon, Danica Patrick, Marco Andretti, Darren Manning, Tony Kanaan, Scott Sharp, A.J. Foyt IV and Vitor Meira.

During the upcoming Open Test, teams will be gathering data from the DIS road course as they prepare for the 2007 IndyCar Series season.

"I think with a road course, no matter where you're at, you can always take advantage of it," Meira said.

"Some you get more information than the others. And I would say that Daytona is a little bit on the simple side of the road course itself. But it has two very hard braking areas with real fast chicanes, and you can really get a lot of information from that.

"And again, the bottom line is it's Daytona, so it's real exciting, really, really cool to be at that track just knowing all the history that that place has."
