EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett AquaSox used Mark Lowe’s rehab start Monday night to stop Salem-Keizer’s eight-game winning streak as the Frogs were victorious 5-1. Lowe turned in a perfect inning, facing three and retiring three. The Sox carried their hot bats from the previous game into Monday night, this time with more positive results. Led by slugger Gregory Halman who homered (5) in the 5th, the team combined for nine hits while Kalian Sams, Kris Sanchez and Jeff Dunbar each went 2-for-4. Edward Paredes delivered a solid outing on the mound after taking over for the rehabbing Lowe. Paredes went six innings allowing two hits, only one run and recording six strikeouts. Hard-throwing Edmonds native Brandon McKerney went two stellar innings retiring six of six batters he faced and earning the save. The AquaSox will return to Everett Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, July 17th for a five-game set versus the Boise Hawks followed immediately by a three-game set against Vancouver. Mark Lowe’s Line: 12 pitches, 8 for strikes, no hits, no strikeouts. Lowe is expected to make another rehab start in Eugene later this week.
