EUGENE, Ore. - University of Oregon defensive end Dexter Manley II will transfer from the Ducks’ football program, according to head coach Mike Bellotti.

The 6-2, 280-pound Manley played in 11 of Oregon’s 13 games in his only season in Eugene after transferring from Santa Monica College prior to the 2006 season, recording eight tackles in a reserve role.

“I wish Dexter well and told him I would help him transfer to somewhere he could receive more playing time,” Bellotti said.

Manley would have only one year to complete his final season of collegiate eligibility.

Oregon opens fall practice Aug. 6.
