PASCO, Wash. - For the second straight day, the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes defeated the Tri-City Dust Devils in a one-run game. The 3-2 decision puts the Volcanoes' record at 24-5, while the Dust Devils fall to 10-19. Salem-Keizer converted three doubles into two runs in the second inning, and tacked on their final run in the fourth to take a 3-0 lead. The Dust Devils would do all their scoring in the fifth, as Kevin Clark led off the inning with a home run down the right field line and Brian Rike hit a two-out RBI single. Clark and Rike each finished 2 for 4 for the Dust Devils. Salem-Keizer starter Thomas Brewer (3-0) earned the win after giving up two runs in five innings, while Tri-City starter Bruce Billings (2-2) took the loss. Game three of the five game series will be Thursday night.
