Volcanoes Cruise Past Dust Devils, 7-1

PASCO, Wash. - Jared Cranston pitched five scoreless innings to lead visiting Salem-Keizer over Tri-City, 7-1, on Thursday.

Cranston (1-0) yielded a hit and a walk with three strikeouts to lower his ERA to 1.06.

The 22-year-old left-hander retired the last 13 batters he faced after allowing a single and a walk with two outs in the first.

Jackson Williams went 3-for-4 with a two run-homer, his fourth, in the second for the Volcanoes (25-5).

Sean Van Elderen had two hits and two RBIs.

Tri-City starter Cory Riordan (0-1) allowed four runs on six hits and struck out three without issuing a walk in four innings.

Michael Mitchell delivered an RBI single in the eighth for the Dust Devils (10-20).
