EUGENE, Ore. - Matthew Downs drove in three runs with a pair of doubles to lead visiting Salem-Keizer past Eugene, 6-2, on Sunday.

Downs smacked a two-run double in the first inning and delivered an RBI double in the eighth.

Garret Baker went 3-for-5 with an RBI for the Volcanoes (32-8).

Salem-Keizer starter Jared Cranston (2-0) gave up two runs on five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in five innings for the win.

Andrew De La Garza tossed two perfect frames before Timothy Egart allowed one hit and fanned two in two innings.

Eugene's Luis Durango went 2-for-3 to extend his hitting streak to a Northwest League season-high 18 games.

He also has reached base in a league-best 28 consecutive games, also a Northwest League season-best.

Justin Baum belted a two-run homer, his seventh, in the first for the Emeralds (24-15).

The 21-year-old third baseman is hitting .333 with five homers and 11 RBIs in his last nine games.

Eugene starter Jeremy Hefner (1-1) surrendered four runs on seven hits and three walks with one strikeout in 3 2/3 frames.
