Greg Riddoch became Eugene's all-time winningest manager as the Emeralds edged visiting Yakima, 3-2, on Monday.

Riddoch moved past Hugh Luby with his 236th victory.

He managed Eugene for five seasons in the late 1970s and early '80s before holding various jobs in the Major Leagues, including three seasons as manager of the San Diego Padres.

The 61-year-old skipper returned to the Emeralds this year.

Kellen Kulbacki homered and drove in two runs, plating Luis Durango with a groundout in the first inning and smacking a solo shot, his first, in the third. Justin Baum added an RBI double in the sixth for the Emeralds (9-5).

Eugene starter Yesid Salazar yielded two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out one in three innings. Cory Luebke (1-0) gave up three hits and fanned one in two scoreless frames for the win.

Jackson Quezada, a 20-year-old right-hander, struck out one in a perfect ninth for his third save.

Yakima's Evan Fray hit a leadoff triple and scored on Clayton Connor's single in the first. Joseph Ayers had an RBI groundout in the fourth, while Ramon Ramirez added three hits for the Bears (5-9).

Yakima starter Luis Caro (1-1) allowed three runs on nine hits and a walk while fanning four in six innings.
