CORVALLIS - It's back to Omaha, for the Oregon State Beavers. Jonah Nickerson scattered five hits and Mitch Canham drove in five runs for Oregon State in a 15-nothing victory last night over Stanford. It advances the Beavers to the College World Series. Oregon State is making its second consecutive trip to the series after a 53-year drought.

(CORVALLIS) - O-S-U's Jonah Nickerson received a standing ovation when he left the game with two outs in the eighth. He struck out seven. Oregon State swept Stanford in a three-game series in Corvallis during the regular season -- but the Cardinal rebounded to win nine of their last 15 conference games. The Beavers -- nine of whom were picked in Tuesday's draft -- are 27-and-4 at Coleman Field this year.

(PORTLAND) - After a difficult road trip, the Portland Beavers return to P-G-E Park for an eight-game homestand tomorrow. Highlighing the homestand on Thursday is an appearance by former Baltimore Orioles pitcher Hall-of-Famer Jim Palmer. He is the only pitcher to earn a World Series victory in three different decades.

(CALGARY, Alberta) - The start of the Western Hockey League season is still about four months away. But some of the young players in the Portland Winter Hawks organization had a chance to show off some of their skills this weekend. More than 20 Winter Hawks' hopefuls, ages 15 to 17, attended a high intensity camp and scrimmage session this weekend.
