McMINNVILLE - The man who coached Linfield to the Division Three national football championship in 2004 is leaving to take an assistant coaching job at Oregon State. Jay Locey led Linfield to at least a share of six straight Northwest Conference titles, compiling an 84-and-18 record with the Wildcats.

CORVALLIS - The Oregon State baseball team has arrived in Omaha for the College World Series. Second baseman Chris Kunda says the team seems more relaxed this year because many of the players participated in last year's World Series and know what to expect. The Beavers face the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday.

PORTLAND - Paul McAnulty went five-for-five and homered during an eight-run seventh inning as the Portland Beavers rallied for an eleven-ten win over the Tucson Sidewinders. Termell Sledge also homered for the Beavers, who trailed eight-nothing after five innings.

PORTLAND - The Portland Timbers face three matches in four days as they head east to take on the Minnesota Thunder, the Rochester Raging Rhinos and the Montreal Impact. The Timbers have four wins, four losses and three draws heading into tonight's match at Minnesota.
