Oregon's Hidahl Wins OGA Championship Bracket Opener

PORTLAND, Ore. - University of Oregon freshman Kate Hildahl opened action Wednesday with a win in the first round of match play in the 98th Oregon Golf Amateur Championship, hosted by Columbia Edgewater Country Club.

The Tualatin, Ore., native won 3 and 2 over Amy Mombert, and on Thursday next faces Marcie Hoover who defeated Molly Edmunds, 5 and 3.

Hildahl earned her spot in the final bracket after stood 11th after the first two qualifying rounds Monday-Tuesday (80-79-159) on the par-72, 5,991-yard course.
