Oregon State`s Perry Selected to Preseason All-America Team

Perry is already on the preseason "watch lists" for the Outland and Lombardi Awards.

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State University junior offensive guard Jeremy Perry has been selected to the Street & Smith’s preseason All-America Team.

The publication also selected senior guard Roy Schuening and senior placekicker Alexis Serna to its third team All-America squad.

Perry has started 23 career games for the Beavers, but missed last December’s Sun Bowl after suffering a knee injury near the end of the team’s 35-32 win at No. 24 Hawaii.

The Hau’ula, Hawaii native was a first team All-Pac-10 Conference selection in 2006 and the league’s co-Freshman of the Year in 2005.

Perry is already on the preseason "watch lists" for the Outland and Lombardi Awards.

Schuening, from Pendleton, has started 37 consecutive games and is a two-time Pac-10 Honorable Mention selection.

Serna, from Fontana, Calif., was the 2005 Lou Groza Award recipient and enters the season with a school record 62 made field goals.

The publication also named seniors Yvenson Bernard (RB), Derrick Doggett (LB) and Sammie Stroughter (WR) to its preseason All-Pac-10 team. Editors selected the Beavers No. 24 in the nation for its preseason poll.

Practice for the 2007 season begins Aug. 3 as the Beavers prepare for the season opener Thurs., Aug. 30 against the Utah Utes at Reser Stadium.

The game will be televised live by FSN Northwest beginning at 7 p.m.

Oregon State will enter the fray with a 22-game non-conference home winning streak, including 13-0 with Mike Riley at the helm.
