MOSCOW, Idaho - Three college transfers have signed financial aid agreements to attend the University of Idaho and play soccer for the Vandals in the fall.

Four-year transfer Ali Buswell, Corban College, and junior-college transfers Tianna Meduri and Amanda Triller, Clackamas Community College, are former players from Showler`s club teams who will rejoin the Vandal coach.

“I am excited to be coaching three of my old club players,“ Showler said. “It will be a challenge for them as transfers to step up to this level, but I know what they are all capable of and I'm excited at the possibilities of what lies ahead. They know what is needed and they now need to step up and prove they have what it takes. I am confident they will.“

Buswell is a midfielder who played in 42 games for Corban College over the past two seasons. She scored five goals and assisted on 12 others during her career at Corban. Buswell played club soccer for coach Showler`s Salem United Soccer Club and also spent two years as a member of the FC Portland squad. At West Salem High School, she scored 30 goals and tallied 43 assists while earning first team all-league and all-state honorable mention honors as a senior.

“Ali comes to us with two years of college soccer experience. She is an out-and-out winger who delivers a great ball into the danger area. She has good speed and will add a bit of spark out wide. We look forward to Ali`s transition to Division I soccer and look for good things to happen from her,“ Showler said.

Meduri and Triller were teammates at ClCC and helped led the Cougars to back-to-back NWAACC Championships. Both are two-time Southern Region all-star selections and earned NWAACC All-Academic Team honors in 2005.

Triller scored six goals in her career at ClCC and garnered nine assists in 2005. Before attending ClCC, she played at South Albany High School and earned second team all-league honors.

“Amanda joins us after two very successful junior college seasons, helping her team to back-to-back Regional Championships. She is strong on the ball, dribbles with confidence, and distributes well. We look forward to seeing Amanda transition into Division I soccer and adding to the midfield mix,“ Showler said.

Meduri scored five goals in her career at ClCC and garnered three assists in 2005. Before attending ClCC, she played at West Salem High School and earned all-state and all-conference honors as a team captain.

“`T` is a feisty, no nonsense player who has the experience of two years of junior college behind her; both seasons being Regional Champions. This success breeds success and that is what we need. Her athletic, ball winning, determined style makes her a huge asset to this team both offensively and defensively,“ Showler said.
