Western Oregon Blasts Saint Martin's, 18-2

The Wolves will wrap up tournament play with a Monday contest against host Central Washington.

ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Western Oregon snapped a five-game losing streak with a vengence, pounding out 18 hits during an 18-2 win over Saint Martin's on Sunday at the GNAC Invitational at Tomlinson Field.

With the win, the Wolves improved to 5-8 on the season, while the Saints dropped to 5-17.

The non-conference victory for WOU was their first in three tries this season against SMU.

Kevin Corrigan homered twice and drove in four runs, while Josh McGowan had a round-tripper and five RBI to pilot the offense.

The Wolves scored six runs each in the second and third innings to settle matters early.

Six different WOU pitchers shared mound duties, holding Saint Martin's to two runs on seven hits.

The Wolves will wrap up tournament play with a Monday contest against host Central Washington, who is now 11-2 on the season.
