SPOKANE, Wash. - #3 Oregon held off #14 Miami (Ohio) 58-56 in their first round Midwest Region game Friday afternoon in Spokane. Oregon will now face #11 Winthrop who pulled off the morning upset by defeating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 74-64 on Sunday. Ducks senior point guard Aaron Brooks hit two free throws with :21 seconds left. Marty Leunen added two more with :02 seconds left to preserve the victory for the Ducks. Brooks finished with 18 points. Marty Leunen chipped in 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Tim Pollitz led the RedHawks with 21 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
