WNIT Sends Oregon to Wyoming for Third Round

EUGENE - The University of Oregon women’s basketball team is headed to Laramie, Wyo., for its third round game on Thursday in the postseason WNIT.

The Ducks (17-13) and Cowgirls (23-9) will play at 6:00 PM Pacific to determine a berth in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.

Oregon, which received a bye in the first round, won 70-54 over UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, improving to 11-1 all-time in WNIT play.

The Ducks have won a pair of championships in three trips, taking home the hardware in 1989 and 2002.

Wyoming will be hosting its third straight game in this year’s tourney, having disposed of Nevada in the first round and Missouri in round two.
