HOUSTON - Oregon State University junior offensive guard Jeremy Perry has been selected for the second straight year to the Rotary Lombardi Watch List, it was announced Tuesday.

The Lombardi Award honors college football’s top down linemen or an individual who plays within five yards of the line of scrimmage.

Perry, a 6-2 313-pound native of Hau’ula, Hawaii, was one of three Beavers to be selected to the 2006 Pac-10 Conference First Team and was the Co-Pac-10 Freshman of the Year in 2005.

He has started 23 games for head coach Mike Riley, but missed the Sun Bowl last December due to an injury suffered in the regular season finale at Hawaii.

This year’s event, marking the 38th year of raising funds for the American Cancer Society while honoring college football’s best lineman, will be held at the Hilton Americas Hotel in Houston Dec. 5th, 2007.

Perry is one of 43 candidates on the preliminary list, while the Pac-10 is the most represented conference with seven members.

The Lombardi Award is voted on by over 500 individuals, representing past winners, Division I coaches and selected sportswriters.

Perry is also one of several football student-athletes who will be available for “Beaver Nation” to email questions to during spring practice through osubeavers.com. Look for more details in the near future.

Oregon State opens spring practice April 2nd and concludes with the annual spring game April 28th at Reser Stadium.

Season tickets are currently available for the six-game home schedule.
