CLAREMONT, Calif. - Linfield’s Brittany Miller pitched a perfect game and Amanda Attleberger became the school’s all-time home run hitter as the No. 4 Wildcats posted consecutive shutouts of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in a nonconference doubleheader Friday afternoon at Athena Field.

The Wildcats won 6-0 and 4-0 to raise their record to 12-2.

GAME 1

Returning to action after missing two games with an injury, Erica Hancock struck out eight batters while tossing a one-hitter.

Hancock walked just one Athena, keeping her season record perfect at 5-0.

Attleberger pounded her first home run of the season to break Linfield’s career record.

Attleberger entered the game tied with former slugger Amy Hammons atop the career home run list, each with 13.

Attleberger’s roundtripper came in the third inning, pushing the Linfield lead to 4-0.

Stephanie Rice, Jenny Marshall, Meredith Brunette, Rochelle Friend and Michelle Silbernagel all had two hits as the Wildcats totaled a dozen hits in the game.

GAME 2

Miller faced the minimum 21 batters, fanning a season-high 12 without a walk. Meanwhile, Millers teammates spread around seven hits, including triple from Attleberger.

The Wildcats scored twice in the first inning, added singled runs in the third and fourth, then rode Miller’s right arm the rest of the way.

NEXT: The Wildcats face a pair of challenging contests Saturday at the Sun West Tournament in Orange.

Linfield meets Babson at 1:00 PM followed by Tufts at 3:30 PM, two NCAA tournament entrants a year ago.
