TURLOCK, Calif. - Western Oregon used the same storyline in a pair of wins on Saturday, topping Cal State Stanislaus 13-2 and 7-2 in a baseball doubleheader in Turlock.

The Wolves used big seven-run innings in each game to improve to 8-12 on the season, snapping a eight-game Warrior win streak in the process.

Cal State Stanislaus is now 13-12 in 2007.

The two clubs will play another twinbill on Sunday at noon.

In game one, the Wolves led 4-1 heading into the eighth inning.

After retiring the first out of the inning, Warrior pitcher Marquis Fleming walked Joe McCormick, hit Coubi Jiles was a pitch, and Travis Coursey then made him pay with a three-run home run.

The Wolves tacked on four more runs off of Warrior relievers before all the damage was done.

Kevin Corrigan picked up the win for Western Oregon pitching eight innings, surrendering 4 hits and collecting 4 strikeouts.

Brent Mertens was 3 for 5 with a double, triple and home run, while Paul Fisher went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI for the Wolves.

Eric Federico collected 2 hits in 4 at bats for the Warriors.

In game two the Warriors jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the third on a solo home run by A.J. Valentine, his sixth of the year.

However, in the top of the fourth the Warrior defense fell apart, allowing seven unearned runs all with two outs.

With one out and Corrigan on first base, a ground ball was mishandled allowing Tony Jones to reach base.

Mertens then flew out to right field for the second out.

Warrior starter Jason Peters then hit Aaron Sutton with a pitch loading the bases for Fisher.

On the second pitch of the at-bat, a throwing error by Warrior catcher Tom Long allowed the second run to score.

Fisher was then hit by a pitch, loading the bases again.

A walk and three hits later, the Wolves recorded their second seven-run inning of the day.

Corrigan led the way for the Wolves in game two going 2 for 3 with 2 RBI.

Valentine was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI for the Warriors.
