SURREY, B.C. - Junior Lindsay Batey reached base safely twice for Corban's softball team, including a single in the first inning of the second game of Tuesday's double header against the NAIA's No. 4-ranked Clan Simon Fraser, despite back-to-back losses, 8-0 & 8-0, that featured a perfect game in the opener by the host's Jen Schreyer.

After the non-conference match-up, the Warriors' record falls to 3-17-1 overall and remains 1-3 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.

Meanwhile, the No. 4 Clan improve their undefeated record to 9-0.

Game #1 - Simon Fraser 8, Corban 0

After making a long trip up to beautiful British Columbia, the Warriors struggled in the first of two distant road games Tuesday.

The host Clan took a four run lead in the first inning behind a run-scoring double from Melanie Matthews.

Matthews went on to record her second RBI of the first game on a solo-home run in the bottom of the third inning.

Three runs later marked the end for the Warriors after five innings.

Junior Kelley Seaton pitched all five innings for Corban, while allowing eight hits and eight runs (all earned).

Schreyer struck out eight batters in sealing the perfect game.

Game #2 - Simon Fraser 8, Corban 0

The Warriors had warmer bats in the second stanza.

Batey broke Corban's famine with a single in the first inning and sophomore Karlee Sisler reached first base safely in the fourth inning to give Corban something to take pride in.

Likewise, freshman Nicole Leupitz arrived safely to first in the fifth inning before being stranded on third base.

Sisler fulfilled multiple purposes for the visitors as she matched her performance in the batter's box with a strong four innings in the pitching circle.

She fanned one Clan batter, while allowing eight runs (four earned) on seven hits.

On the other hand, Haley Cicchetti gave up three hits and recorded two strikeouts in earning the win. Jennifer Van Egdom came on for Cicchetti in the fifth inning and closed out the game.

While her teammates Terra Davenport and Christine Barr hit back-to-back doubles in the second inning, Cicchetti led the Clan with a home run in the third.

The Warriors head to Klamath Falls on Friday, March 30th, for a pair of conference encounters with Oregon Institute of Technology beginning at 2:00 PM.
