CALDWELL, Idaho - Pat Burke went 5-for-8 with two doubles and four RBI as the Albertson College baseball team completed a three-game sweep of Corban College, winning Saturday's doubleheader 12-4 and 8-6 at Simplot Stadium. With the victories, the Yotes (10-2, 3-0 NAIA Region I) extended their overall win streak to six games, and remained perfect at home with an 8-0 mark. After the Warriors (4-8-1, 0-3) opened Game 1 with a first inning run, the Yotes responded with a seven-spot to take control. Burke had an RBI single to start the rally, then capped it with a two-run single, as ACI sent 12 men to the plate in the frame. Carson Taysom gutted out four-plus innings to notch his third win of the year, with Tyler Smith going 2-for-3 with two RBI and Kent Bradshaw going 2-for-3 with three RBI in the win. Game 2 saw ACI run out to an 8-1 lead after five innings and nearly watch it evaporate. Corban brought the tying run to the plate in the seventh, but Joey Zubizarreta caught Craig Spicer looking to end the threat. Pat Lyon then worked out of jams in the eighth and ninth innings to log his first career save -- as Tim Bourner got the win in the staff start, fanning four in three innings of work. Burke had three of his hits in the Game 2 win, with Bryan Champ, who will head to the NAIA Division II Basketball Tournament tomorrow, going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Ryan Heil went 3-for-6 with four RBI in the twinbill for the Warriors, who have lost 63-of-72 all-time meetings with ACI. The Yotes take a break from regional play on Tuesday, traveling to Northwest Nazarene for a single game at 5:00 PM. Corban takes on Lewis & Clark College on Tuesday at 6:00 PM in West Linn.
