CLEVELAND - With their backs to the wall in Game 5, the Nets staved off elimination behind a big game from Jason Kidd.

Kidd tallied 20 points, nine rebounds and six assists as New Jersey rolled past Cleveland, 83-72, on Wednesday, coming within one game of tying the best-of-seven series, currently at 3-2.

The Cavaliers held the Nets to six points in the fourth quarter, but were unable to overcome an 18-point deficit to start the period.

LeBron James scored 20 points to go along with nine rebounds.

Richard Jefferson had 15 points and eight boards and Mikki Moore added 14 points and six rebounds for New Jersey.

The Nets will try to stay alive once again on Friday as they host Cleveland. Tip-off is at 7:00 PM ET on ESPN.
