Linfield's Marshall and Rice Named NFCA All-Americans

Together, the two Linfield All-Americans helped Linfield achieve a school-record 42 victories.

SALEM, Va. - Linfield juniors Jenny Marshall (Jr., Sherwood, Ore.) and Stephanie Rice (Jr., Milwaukie, Ore.) were named to the 2007 Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-America Team.

Marshall was voted a first team All-American.

A shortstop, she was named Northwest Conference Player of the Year and a first team all-West Region and all-West Region tournament selection. She leads the Wildcats and the NWC with a .448 batting average.

Rice earned a spot on the NFCA All-America third team.

A three-time first team NWC all-star, Rice also gained recognition as a first team all-West Region and all-West Region tournament selection.

She started every game in center field, hitting .422. Batting in the leadoff position, she scored a team-best 60 runs with five doubles, one triple and 22 RBIs. She also stole a school-record 42 bases.

Together, the two Linfield All-Americans helped Linfield achieve a school-record 42 victories.

The Wildcats have reached the semifinals of the NCAA Division III playoffs for the second straight year.
