Western Oregon's Corrigan Named to Another All-Region Team

MONMOUTH, Ore. - Western Oregon senior Kevin Corrigan has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writer’s Division II All-West Region baseball team.

Corrigan was named to the second team as a pitcher.

It is the second all-region selection for the 6-1, 195-pound righthander, who was also named to the first team of the Daktronics all-region team as a utility player.

One more region team will be selected, by the American Baseball Coaches Association. That group is expected to be named this week.

Corrigan, who was also a All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference selection as a first baseman and a pitcher.

He was the only Western Oregon player selected to the first or second all-region team on a squad that features top players from the California Collegiate Athletic Association and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

The Kent, Wash. native played two seasons at WOU, and served as the Wolves No. 1 starting pitcher this season. He was also Western’s top hitter, hitting .367 with nine home runs and 35 RBI. On the mound, he went 6-3 with a 3.61 ERA.

Western Oregon finished 28-19 on the season, and won its’ seventh consecutive conference championship in 2007.
