May-25-2007 05:03NBA Playoffs: Wallace's Shot Gives Pistons 2-0 Series LeadSalem-News.com SPORTSLeBron James scored a game-high 19 points to go along with six boards and seven assists.
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Foul trouble kept Rasheed Wallace out for much of the first quarter on Thursday, but it did not prevent him from hitting the game-winning shot. Wallace's jumper with 24.3 seconds remaining gave the Pistons a one-point lead, and following three straight missed shots by the Cavaliers, Richard Hamilton hit two free throws to hand Detroit a 79-76 Game 2 win over Cleveland. Wallace finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds and Jason Maxiell added 15 and six. Maxiell scored most of his points while filling in for Wallace early in the game. On the ensuing possession after Wallace's jumper, LeBron James drove the lane and took a hook shot that did not fall. Larry Hughes follwed it up by missing a five-foot jumper and Anderson Varejao was unable to sink the putback tip. James scored a game-high 19 points to go along with six boards and seven assists. Cleveland led by 12 at the half before the Pistons rallied to take the lead late in the third quarter. Chauncey Billups and Hamilton each poured in 13 points. The Cavaliers will look to turn the series around as they host Detroit for Game 3 on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET on TNT.
