MLB: Mariners Recall Pitcher Ryan Feierabend; Huber Optioned to AAA Tacoma

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Bill Bavasi announced Tuesday that the Mariners have recalled left-handed pitcher Ryan Feierabend from AAA Tacoma.

Feierabend ("FEAR-a-ben") will be the starting pitcher in tonight's (7:05 p.m.) game vs. the Angels in Anaheim and will wear #31.

To make room on the Major League, 25-man roster, Seattle has optioned right-handed pitcher Jon Huber back to Tacoma.

Huber was recalled on May 25 and appeared in two games. He did not record a decision, and posted a 2.25 ERA (4.0 IP/1 ER).

Feierabend, 21, was 2-2, 3.86 in 10 starts with Tacoma this season, tossing 49.0 innings and allowing 21 earned runs. He has not allowed more than three earned runs in any of his starts this season.

Tonight will be Feierabend's third Major League start, and just his fifth appearance.

He made his Major League debut Sept. 13, 2006 vs. Toronto, retiring all six batters he faced. In his big league career, Feierabend is 0-1, with a 3.71 ERA in four games, two starts.
