Beavers Allenby Earns All-Region Golf Honors

Allenby finished below par in six of his seven spring tournaments.

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State junior golfer James Allenby, who just completed one of the best seasons in school history, added to his honor roll by being named to the Golf Coaches Association of America/PING All-Pacific Region team.

Allenby (Langley, B.C./Langley Secondary/UTEP), in his first season with the Beavers, set a new school record for single-season scoring average with a mark of 71.59, nearly a full stroke better than the previous record.

He earned All-Pac-10 honorable mention honors after finishing 14th at the Pac-10 Championships.

He then ended his season with a tie for 10th place at the NCAA West Regional.

Allenby finished below par in six of his seven spring tournaments.

He had 18 subpar rounds in all, including 10 of his final 13. He had a total of three top 10 finishes.

Allenby is now eligible for All-American honors due to his selection on the all-region team.
