KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Oregon Institute of Technology student and baseball player Robert J. Draminski III, 19, died early Monday morning when his car collided head-on with a logging truck on Highway 97 south of Klamath Falls.

The crash happened at about 7:30 AM, about a mile north of the state line when Draminski, of San Jose, California was driving southbound and crossed the centerline, striking the oncoming truck driven by Nels Jorgenson, 44, of Klamath Falls.

Authorities were uncertain why Draminskis car crossed the centerline, and say they are continuing the investigation.

Baseball coach Pete Whisler said, Robert was well liked, outgoing and hard-working. It is just a shame, I feel so horrible for him and his family. Whisler continued, He came here and worked his tail off being a freshman. He was part of our family here.
