Western Oregon's Dorn Named to All-Region Squad

MONMOUTH, Ore. - Western Oregon junior third baseman Trina Dorn has been named to the first team of the Daktronics NCAA Division II west region all-star softball team.

Dorn was the only Western Oregon player selected to the squad.

She hit .324 this spring, with eight doubles, five home runs and 29 RBI. She had a fielding percentage of .959 and made only seven errors the entire season.

Dorn and freshman shortstop Tyler Sutherland were also named to the first team of the All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference team yesterday.

Sutherland was named the Freshman of the Year.

Second team selections included catcher Shannon Prochaska, pitcher Brianne Dieringer, outfielder Jamie Becker, and designated player Krysta Pennington.

Pitcher Christina Cooke was an honorable mention selection.
