Nov-14-2006 08:51Warrior Duo Named to NAIA All-Region TeamSalem-News.com SPORTSThis is the second year in a row that Marshall and Louvier have been placed on the all-region team.
SALEM - Senior forward Scott Marshall and junior midfielder Caleb Louvier continue to pile up the post-season accolades, as the duo was named to the NAIA All-Region team when the list was released by the region office on Sunday. Marshall, who was named as a member of the all-conference 1st team earlier this month, concluded his final season in a Warrior uniform with a team-high 13 goals and tied for the team lead in points with 30. In his four-year career, the 5-foot-11 forward scored 59 goals (3rd on the all-time list), handed out 26 assists (2nd on the all-time chart), and registered 144 points (3rd on all-time list). This season, Marshall scored a season-high three goals versus Evergreen on October 5th, while registering a season-best six points in the same game. Louvier, who was named as a member of the all-conference 1st team earlier this month for the third straight season, ended his junior campaign with 12 goals and tied for the team lead in both assists (6) and points (30). The 5-foot-10 midfielder scored 3 of Corban's 4 goals versus cross-town rival Willamette earlier this season, while registering a season-high six points in the same game. Louvier heads into his fourth and final season as a Warrior ranked 6th all-time in career goals (29) and 5th all-time in career points (74). The 2004 Seattle Christian High School graduate is a mere one assist away from breaking into the top 10 in career assists. Marshall and Louvier became the sixth and seventh players in Warrior men's soccer history to be named to the All-Region team joining then-Western Baptist Warriors Patrick Daka (2000 & 2002) and Brandon Weber (2003).
