Men's Basketball: Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 60, Willamette 50

CLAREMONT, Calif. - In men's basketball on Friday, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps defeated Willamette, 60-50, in the first round of the David Wells Classic on the C-M-S campus in Claremont, Calif.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps are now 3-0. Willamette is now 1-2.

The Bearcats were led by Dan Nugent with 17 points. Ian Mansfield chipped in 11 points.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps were led by Coury Clemens who had 18 points and Mani Maceira who scored 15 points.

Willamette will play Pomona-Pitzer at Pomona-Pitzer (also in Claremont) in the second round of the tournament on Saturday at 7:30 PM.

The tournament featured both games at C-M-S on Friday, with both second round games at Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday.

In Friday's early game, Pomona-Pitzer defeated Hope International, 83-32 in overtime.

C-M-S will play Hope International at 5:00 PM on Saturday.
