CORVALLIS - Oregon State University football student-athletes Yvenson Bernard, Jeremy Perry and Sabby Piscitelli have been selected to the Pacific-10 All-Conference First Team, the league announced Monday afternoon. The three are part of a contingent that includes five second team selections and six honorable mention picks. Bernard and Piscitelli are both graduates of Boca Raton High School in Boca Raton, Fla. Bernard is second in the Pac-10 for rushing yards per game averaging 100.2 and is fourth for all-purpose yards at 118.2. He currently is fourth all-time at OSU with 2,443 rushing yards and will likely move into third place behind Ken Simonton and Steven Jackson before the season concludes. Bernard was an Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 selection last year. Piscitelli, a strong safety, earned honorable mention as a sophomore and junior. He currently has 13 career interceptions, tied for the fifth-most in the nation by an active player. Piscitelli has 60 tackles for the season and is tied for second in the league with 11 pass deflections. He was a preseason candidate for the Nagurski and Thorpe Awards. Perry, from Hau’ula, Hawaii, is the team’s starting left guard. The 6-2, 313-pound sophomore was the Pac-10 Co-Freshman of the Year last season and earned Freshman All-American honors in several publications. Perry was a preseason Outland and Lombardi Award candidate. Five Beavers made second team honors, including junior Sammie Stroughter as a receiver and punt returner. Stroughter was joined by junior placekicker Alexis Serna, junior linebacker Derrick Doggett, senior offensive tackle Adam Koets and junior center Kyle DeVan. Serna and Doggett were members of the conference team last year. Stroughter was also one of seven players on the conference teams to be selected to the league’s all-academic squad. Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 selections were sophomore offensive tackle Andy Levitre, senior quarterback Matt Moore, senior tight end Joe Newton, junior offensive guard Roy Schuening, senior defensive tackle Ben Siegert and junior defensive end Jeff Van Orsow.
