South Salem, McNary, South Albany, Silverton, Stayton, and Cascade must win this week if they want a shot at making the state playoffs this year.

SALEM - Are you ready for some mid-valley high school football, Thursday night style?

Most teams in the state are in action Thursday night, and some mid-valley teams face must wins this week if they want any chance of making the state playoffs this year.

In what could be the Central Valley Conference game of the year, West Salem (3-2 overall, 2-1 CVC) travels to the high desert of central Oregon to take on Redmond (4-2 overall, 2-0 CVC) who is tied for the conference lead with Sprague.

McNary (2-4 overall, 0-2 CVC) needs a win at home to stay alive in the playoff race, but will have to beat Sprague (3-3 overall, 2-0 CVC) who is on a three game winning streak.

South Salem (1-5 overall, 0-3 CVC) must win if they want any shot of making the state playoffs this year. The Saxons play host to McKay (3-3 overall, 2-2 CVC) can strengthen their playoff hopes with a win.

North Salem is in non-conference action this week. The Vikings (3-3 overall, 1-2 CVC) are on the road to take on Putnam from the Three Rivers Conference.

In Mid-Willamette Conference action Thursday night.

# 7 Corvallis faces another tough test this week in Lebanon.

The Spartans (4-1 overall, 2-1 MWC) lost their first game of the year last week to #1 West Albany, 31-8. The Warriors (4-2 overall, 3-0 MWC) have won four straight.

Dallas and South Albany meet as both teams need a win to stay in the playoff race.

The Dragons are (2-3 overall, 2-1 MWC) while the Rebels are (1-5 overall, 1-2 MWC)

#1 West Albany may be the best team in the state of Oregon.

The Bulldogs (6-0 overall, 3-0 MWC) are averaging 33 points a game, and face Crescent Valley (1-5, 1-2 MWC) at home.
