Wildcats Blank Bearcats, 3-0

The Wildcats improved to 2-1-2 in the NWC and 5-2-2 overall with the win.Willamette falls to 0-4-1 and 1-8-1 with the loss.

SALEM - Linfield won its second Northwest Conference men's soccer game in a row, defeating Willamette 3-0 at Sparks Field.

The Wildcats improved to 2-1-2 in the NWC and 5-2-2 overall. Willamette fell to 0-4-1 and 1-8-1.

Mike Grabast and subs Brice Lang and Adam Jaffe scored Linfield’s goals.

Chris Paradis had two assists and Tim Solimano one.

Grabast, leading scorer in the conference, took a game-high eight shots, three of them on goal.

Linfield outhustled Willamette for 24 shots to the Bearcats’ seven. In the second half, the shot totals were 16 to 2.

Reserve goalkeeper Mike Belzberg played the entire game for Linfield and had five saves.

Lang scored his first goal of the season with 4½ minutes left in the first half. Grabast scored his eighth goal of the season in the 72nd minute and Jaffe scored his fourth with just over seven minutes left.

Linfield used 23 players in the game.

Linfield plays PLU on Saturday in Tacoma and George Fox on Sunday, at Linfield. Both games start at 2:30 PM.

Willamette plays Pacific at home on Saturday, and at PLU on Sunday. Both games start at 2:30 PM.
